Restoring Default Gridlines on Excel Workshop
Clicking on an unused cell and copying it. Then highlighting the cell/cells then right click and select 'paste special' then select the radio button 'Formats' OK then ENTER solved the problem for me.
Thanks to G.McPherson and the rest GMcPherso wrote: When something like this happens to me and I can't pinpoint the cause, I'll 25-May-08 When something like this happens to me and I can't pinpoint the cause, I'll find a nearby cell with similar formatting and paste its format to the offending cells to restore the gridlines. When the user adjusts the brightness and contrast of their machine, these aspects reappear. This appears to be a new issue unique to Office 2007. I believe it is due to the lightness of some items in the display. Office 2007 seems to have a much lighter quality to several of the screen elements. Disappearing gridlines on excel 2007
This has been confounding me ever since we started using Excel 2007. I finally discovered, entirely by accident and frustration how to make them reappear!
Highlight the cell or group of cells whose grid lines have disappeared... Go to HOME tab Then to FONT GROUP Click the FILL COLOR TAB Then, go down to the box that says NO FILL, and click it. Your missing grid lines will magically reappear! To make sure I have found all the grid-less cell areas, I print out a copy of the spreadsheet...and your printed copy will reveal ALL the areas where you are missing your grid lines. This discovery made me happy as heck! Ade wrote: Excel 2007 Gridlines Disappeared 25-May-08 The gridlines disappeared. I have confirmed background has "no color" and all "show gridlines" are checked.
