Default line numbers to appear in line with text

I need a wide left hand margin for binding. At the moment the line numbers I
have for interview extracts appear in the margin rather than the body of the
text. How do I move them to be in line with the rest of the text in other
paragraphs?

Line numbers reside in the margin; this is by design. What you can do is
move them *closer* to text, by setting a value for "From text" in the Line
Numbers dialog box.
