why would a value in a cell as shown here 8212.0011( return a value of
8212.00110000.00 when the ( character was deleted from the cell? The version of excel is 2007 and the os is XP. Is there a regional setting controlling this? |

8212.0011 is numeric and not text. You say are deleting a text character
from 8212.0011? What text character? -- Regards Dave Hawley www.ozgrid.com "Trreborr09" wrote in message ... why would a value in a cell as shown here 8212.0011( return a value of 8212.00110000.00 when the ( character was deleted from the cell? ozgrid, I think you may have missed the "(" from the question.
I believe that there may be custom formatting applied to the cell. Try changing the format to number with the number of decimal places you wish to see.
