Default Starting OE from Desktop Icon

Occasionally when starting OE by double clicking the desktop icon, I get the
usual hour glass symbol and within 5 seconds or so, the hourglass disappears
and OE does not open. After several attemps at this, I restart Windows XP
(home) and everything works as it should. Anyone have a clue as to where to
look for answers? I guess this happens 10% of the openings.

Hi Art,

A place to start is the message store. Compacting might help the situation.

Tools, Options, Maintenance... Clean up now. It is safest to do this in
offline mode when the message store files are not being written to.
Automatic compaction can lead to problems.
