Vcalendar issue
A user is receiving vCalendar entries as text such as this:
BEGIN:VCALENDAR PRODID:-//Microsoft Corporation//Outlook 11.0 MIMEDIR//EN VERSION:2.0 METHOD:REQUEST BEGIN:VEVENT om DTSTART:20041022T220000Z DTEND:20041023T030000Z LOCATION:Southside Works TRANSP:OPAQUE SEQUENCE:0 UID:040000008200E00074C5B7101A82E00800000000A0FA49 A92252C4010000000000000000 100 00000B9C8204DC90827479153FB589ECC3373 DTSTAMP:20040614T191709Z DESCRIPTION:When: Friday\, October 22\, 2004 6:00 PM-11:00 PM (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada).\nWhe Southside Works\n\n*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*\n\n\n SUMMARY:H'Art & Soul of Haiti PRIORITY:5 X-MICROSOFT-CDO-IMPORTANCE:1 CLASS:PUBLIC BEGIN:VALARM TRIGGER:-PT15M ACTIONISPLAY DESCRIPTION:Reminder END:VALARM END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR Can this be fixed so that this will automatically become a calendar entry? I have tried to copy and paste this text into a new appointment form, to no avail. The user is using Outlook 2002 and the sender is using Outlook 2003. Thanks! |

What does the Internet message header look like? Has it gone through an
anti-virus checker? Does the meeting request work if you omit the reminder? -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Melissa" wrote in message ... I'm not sure what you mean about the Internet message header...? Yes, our
email goes through a virus checker - Thanks. "Sue Mosher [MVP-Outlook]" wrote: What does the Internet message header look like? Has it gone through an anti-virus checker? The Internet message header is what you see in the Tools | Options dialog.
My guess is that the virus checker is altering the message so that Outlook can no longer recognize it as a valid iCalendar item. It would be interesting to know what virus software you're using and if the meeting request works OK when it's turned off. -- Sue Mosher, Outlook MVP Author of Microsoft Outlook Programming - Jumpstart for Administrators, Power Users, and Developers http://www.outlookcode.com/jumpstart.aspx "Melissa" wrote in message ...
