Office Power Point Viewer 2007 won't open ".pps" files
Using Windows 7, Home Premium, 32 bit. No Office 2007 installed. Using
Microsoft Works. Have experienced several issues with Office PPT Viewer 2007. Cleared them, but additionally each time I try to open a .pps file, either from the Desktop or Windows Mail, I receive the following: "C:\Users|AMD\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temp oraryInternetFiles\content.IE5\E7D22GOW\Gathering of Mustangs and Legends2007.pps is not a valid Win32 application". I have opened this file many times on another computer, so don't think it is an issue with the file. The software has been uninstalled and reinstalled several times, with a reboot each time. Also redownloaded the software two different times thinking it was a corrupted download. Can someone please direct me towards a resolution? Thank you, Rext -- |

You might try saving the PPS/PPT file to your harddrive and then
double-click to open it. Right now it looks like you're trying to open it from a website. -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com What's new in PPT 2010? http://www.echosvoice.com/2010.htm Fixing PowerPoint Annoyances http://tinyurl.com/36grcd PowerPoint 2007 Complete Makeover Kit http://tinyurl.com/32a7nx "Rext" wrote in message ... Try saving the presentation to a folder where the path length including
filename are less the 128 characters and see what happens -- Michael Koerner MS MVP - PowerPoint "Rext" wrote in message ... Using Windows 7, Home Premium, 32 bit. No Office 2007 installed. Thank you for your recommendations. I have resolved the issue. It was that
the wrong default program was designated. I hjad no idea there are two different PPT Viewer 2007, but the one I had designated was incorrect. Changed it and it now works well.
