The code should be *ONLY* in the AfterUpdate of the unbound StudentID textbox. The idea is that you fill that textbox - by typing in an ID, or by using the scanner; when you have done so, that textbox's AfterUpdate code gets executed, and finds the corresponding record and displays it. The AfterUpdate property on the form propereties window for this textbox should show [Event Procedure] and clicking the ... icon by it should bring up the code I posted (adapted for your fieldnames if necessary). None of the other controls should have anything in any of their Event property lines. John W. Vinson[MVP] They all have it! What is the code I shouild use to replace it? |

Now when I enter an ID number in the unbound box it moves the other information to the next students ID number, name, etc.? Is there any information I can post so you can look at this and see what is wrong? |

If I go to the unbound text box and got to Event - After Update - ... - Choose Builder - Code Builder - then add what you posted it is then entered in all the text box After Udate boxes. |

It's going on to the next record because this is the last control in the tab order. Now it does nothing As for the Event Property appearing on every field, I do not understand that at ALL. Please open the Form in design view; click the Code button on the toolbar; and copy and paste *everything* in the form's code to a message here. Vinson[MVP] What if I sent this to you and you straightened it out for me? What would be your consultation fee? I have spent too many hours on this and I am about at my wits end. We have it pretty much set up and I would like to do two more things with it. One I would like to be able to have a printout of the students that were scanned and entered the lunch each day and show some kind of alert if the same ID was scanned more than once during the same lunch period. |
