Default Outlook Express can't read / write mail

Hi,

I'm running Windows XP. I had a problem with Outlook Express 6 not
remembering my account passwords. After trying different 'solutions' which
didn't work, I finally tried the solution provided by Microsoft at:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290684, method 3, i.e. deleting the entry
from the registry. Upon restarting OE, this problem was fixed and the
passwords were retained.

But then I ended up with a bigger problem. When selecting the downloaded
mails, nothing was shown in the email preview window, not even if I opened
the mail by double-clicking on it. Also, when creating a new mail, I can
enter the address and subject but I cannot enter and write in the mail body
area.

I tried a fix: regsvr32 inetcomm.dll, but it didn't work. I also tried to
create a new OE storage folder, but again nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Create a new Identity. If works, then import your messages from the old
Identity.

Thanks for your reply. Tried with new identity but to no avail. Still can't

The one shouldn't affect the other. Check your system for viruses and
malware.
