Outlook uses the default search engine in Internet Explorer. In
IE, click the Search button, click the Customize button on the Search toolbar, and choose your default search engine. When I tried this in my copy of IE6, Google was not one of the available choices, so you might have to manually edit your registry as follows: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] "Search Page"="http://www.google.com" "Search Bar"="http://www.google.com/ie" [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL] ""="http://www.google.com/keyword/%s" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search] "SearchAssistant"="http://www.google.com/ie" Celticson wrote: In my last reply, I did apologize for what appears to be bad. It is not a bad attitude, it is frustration and no one seems to know what is wrong. Now...I went into the Registgry and deleted ALL references to Yahoo. Now, when I click on the Search Icon, I get an error message that I have not set a preference to Search in the ;World Wide Web Search'. Thanks. ---------------------------------- "Can-so" wrote: To bad your attitude was not up todate Milly |

I have already done this. And I checked again, and Google/Froogle is my
default Search, but, alas, not in Microsoft Outlook. When I click on the Search icon in Outlook, I get the error message: "You do not have a World Wide Search page registered on you computer". Thank you very much for your 'heads up'. It is appreciated.
Tha problem has been resolved. As you suggested, I went into IE search, and changed everything that I was allowed to change. Also, I went into Microsoft Anti-Spyware and changed BHO settings, i.e., changing anything that may have been hijacked. Outlook now goes to Google search page. You are appreciated and helped resolve a very frustrating problem. My best. ------------------------- "Can-so" wrote: The referal to a bad attitide was not pointed at youMilly has a long standing habit of offering rudness over support. |

Outlook used to use Google as the default search engine in my Outlook. Now, for some reason, it is using Yahoo Search. I don't want Yahoo, I want Google. Please advise as to how I can get Google Search back as my default search engine in Outlook. Thank you. |

So, in the end, you found it was NOT an Outlook problem, corrected it in the
proper place (not Outlook) and are again a happy camper. Waiting for the apology... -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Long standing? How so? And what was rude about my response? However, my
offerings of support have proven far superior to your offers, as evidenced by your attempts at support in microsoft.public.outlook and outlook.general. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
