Birthdays do not sync properly
What can I do to make birthdays sync properly...?
I sync my phone with 2 computers and birthdays never sync properly... standard proceedure is that they end up as recurring once every 12 years and then eventually they just delete themselves... It's rediculous and a complete pain. I have my sync profiles set up so that my work computer has priority over my phone, then my phone has priority over my home computer... Basically I cascade everything down so there's no conflict... I'm running Windows Mobile, so in theory it should work... Then again, Microsoft does a great job doing things half arsed, so the problem might be that I am running Windows on everything... |

Birthdays do not sync properly
If it makes you feel any better, I can't get my iPhone to sync.
birthdays to even just ONE computer with 100% accuracy ;-) but seriously... I gotta ask why you are sync-ing to two computers? If they are running separate PST files then things will get crossed up badly between the two computers, and if you use the same PST file and move it back and forth with you from say home -- work then why not just sync. to one computer? I do agree that "in theory" maybe it should work if it's the same PST file on both PCs, but ... there's lots of ways that it could potentially get hosed up.......... ... but seriously... I gotta ask why you are sync-ing to two computers? Because having the same calendar and contacts (and possibly other folders) on the two PCs is very helpful. I sync two PCs using a Windows Mobile device. If they are running separate PST files then things will get crossed up badly between the two computers, Nonsense. I've been synching my work and home PCs that way for years. Sync software is designed for that. -- Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook] |

Some folks luck may be better, but I have found in my own personal experince that depending on what device you are sync-ing that sometimes the sync does not provide the "expected" result. Brian: I mean you no disrespect, and I do agree that sync. software is (should be) designed to do that if you have never had a sync issue you are IMHO truely blessed ;-) I'll shut up now :-) |

Birthdays do not sync properly
Anyone having problems syncing iphone with outlook should check Apple's
iPhone forum for Mail, Calendar and Contact issues at http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1144 for issues and solutions - while everyone here is an outlook user, few of us have iphones. The iphone forum has all iphone users and a high percentage of users who sync them with outlook. -- Diane Poremsky [MVP - Outlook] Outlook Tips: http://www.outlook-tips.net/ Outlook & Exchange Solutions Center: http://www.slipstick.com Outlook Tips by email: EMO - a weekly newsletter about Outlook and Exchange: Do you keep Outlook open 24/7?
