Any magazine. I just want to know in general what that mark is called. I
think they are used in newspapers also. Jezebel wrote: which magazine? Hi Does anyone know what the symbol at the end of text (like in a magazine) is called? -- Message posted via OfficeKB.com http://www.officekb.com/Uwe/Forums.a...ayout/200509/1 |

I have several magazines and newspapers open in front of me at this moment.
None uses anything other than periods. "Lauren via OfficeKB.com" u14373@uwe wrote in message news:55242e1b8ff31@uwe... Any magazine. I just want to know in general what that mark is called. Perhaps you are asking about the symbols shown in the fonts Wingdings and

Printer's ornaments in general are referred to as dingbats. Those that look
like vine leaves are called fleurons (see http://www.paratype.com/help/term/terms.asp?code=140). The dingbat used to end an article does probably have a special name, but if I ever knew it, I've forgotten it. -- Suzanne S.
