Saving Auto Save Settings
Dave,
Took a look at the documentation for this update and it says its for Windows 2000. I run XP. Will this will be a problem? Where do I look to see if there's an update specifically for XP users? thx. david -----Original Message----- I don't use autosave, but does this help: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en- us;231117 XL2000: AutoSave Settings Are Not Retained Between Sessions of Excel 2000 David wrote: I downloaded the Auto Save plugin for Excel and set my preferences to autosave automatically every 1 minute and not to prompt me before saving. But every time I reboot the prefs go back to the default of saving every 10 minutes and requiring a prompt. Anyone know how to get Excel to retain my autosave settings? thx. d. -- Dave Peterson . |

Saving Auto Save Settings
I wouldn't use it. I looked at the KB and the patch is to excel proper--not
just the addin: OFF2000: How to Obtain and Install Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a) I know that AutoSave isn't part of xl2002 (so you must have brought a copy from a previous version). So I don't think you'll find a patch for xl2002. What setting isn't being saved for you? I've seen posts that set some of the options everytime excel opens. Saving Auto Save Settings
FYI all, I did the SR1a update, and in fact updated all
the way to SP3, and Excel STILL doesn't save my autosave settings between sessions. Did Microsoft's "fix" work for anyone else? Thx, Ron -----Original Message----- I wouldn't use it. Saving Auto Save Settings
I'm trying to save the interval at which the doc
autosaves - in my case, auto save every 1 minute because I have unexplained powerdowns with my computer. might be a thermostat issue but haven't had time to send it into the shop for replacement. the other setting is not requiring the prompt before saving. my work keeps getting interupted while I agree to the auto save. for now, I'll just reset the prefs for this feature everytime I open Excel. Also, I may spring for the $35 and get MS Support Team on this. If they solve it will be worth the money and if they can't then no charge. I'll post whatever I find out. d. -----Original Message----- I wouldn't use it.
