Use Contact Folder as Address Book
I am unable to use a contact folder as an address book. I have installed the
Outlook Address Book service (and closed and restarted Outlook), but the properties of the contact folder stilll do not allow the selection of it as an email address book...that checkbox is still greyed out. What am I missing? |

Post your Outlook version when you have questions. If it is before Outlook
2002, post your mail support mode as well. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Karen" wrote in message ... I am unable to use a contact folder as an address book. Then you cannot have installed the Outlook Address Book Service
successfully. Post the steps you used. Post what you see when you go to Tools | Email Accounts, choose View or change existing directories or address book... -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Karen" wrote in message ... What I did:
Tools | Email Accounts | Add a new directory or address book Selected Additional Address Books Selected Outlook Address Book Restarted Outlook What I see: Tools | Email Accounts | View or change existing directories or address books Outlook Address Book is listed I successfully added my own contact folder as an address book, so I know it works. The problem was encountered when working with a coworker on his computer. Too many variables, I'm sure...but I appreciate your replies thus far. Too many variables indeed. Like "working with a coworker on his
computer..." The instructions work. Perhaps you'd better tell us about this coworker and his computer ------ Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] Karen wrote: What I did: Tools | Email Accounts | Add a new directory or address book Selected Additional Address Books Selected Outlook Address Book Restarted Outlook What I see: Tools | Email Accounts | View or change existing directories or address books Outlook Address Book is listed I successfully added my own contact folder as an address book, so I know it works.
