That's the way it works.

When you open any attachment within OE, it saves a copy to the IE
Temporary Internet Files (TIF), then launches the OPEN application from
the Windows File Associations passing the same of that single
attachment. After that, OE has no control over what happens.

When Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is launched with a Single file name,
and you then use the next/previous functions in that program, then it
will cycle through EVERY picture that it finds in the same folder.

In order for it to work as you desire, OE would have to pass the names
of all the attachments from that e-mail to the Picture and Fax viewer.
Although that would work with that program, it might not work properly
for other applications or other file types. BUT since OE is no longer
under development, that will never change.

As PA Bear suggested, you could clear the before viewing and that would
temporarily fix the problem. But the next time you using OE to view nay
web page with pictures or another message with pictures, you'd have to
clear the TIF again.

Another option would be to move to Windows Live Mail (WLM) which is
Microsoft's preferred free mail/news program for XP, Vista and beyond.
It has a special option to view picture attachments as a slide show in
the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
