Default How do I transfer my contacts from outlook to outlook express

I had all of my addresses in outlook express, but when I'm updated from 2001
to 2002 (with a cd that came with my ppc phone) my addresses were removed.

Clarify your post, realizing that this group has nothing to do with Outlook
Express. What did you update? Those version make no sense. What did you
lose? What are you actually trying to accomplish now?

No such thing as Outlook 2001. Try again please. It will be essential to
provide accurate and complete information if you need help in a newsgroup.

I don't have the old cd that I got outlook from originally, but I do have
Outlook 2002. I would like to have the contact information that is on there,
transferred to my outlook express. I did have it on both, but since my
update, it isn't on there anymore. Hopefully this is enough information for
assitance.

Outlook 2000 existed as 2 completely different versions, so we're still not
close enough. I will guess that you were using Internet Mail Only, a
temporary version of Outlook that actually used Outlook Express instead of
Outlook for its address book. So now you've lost your OE address book. Just
export your Contacts to a format OE can import, like CSV.

Default How do I transfer my contacts from outlook to outlook express

I hope you're not getting frustrated with me, but I didn't have much luck
tryingt to export. Outlook didn't give me csv as a format to export. I went
to file, than import and export. They gave me one option to export. I
clicked export to a file. The options that are than given to me a
Comma Seperated Values (DOS)
Comma Seperated Values (Windows)
dbase
Microsoft Access
Microsoft Excel
Microsoft FoxPro
Personal Folder File (.pst)
Tab Separated Values (DOS)
Tab Separated Values (Windows).

if it is better to work with you on Email than on here please let me know if
you're willing to continue to help.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without

Default How do I transfer my contacts from outlook to outlook express

You can also use a reg hack to force OE to continue to use your Outlook
Contacts like it did in IMO mode. It will not work with the current version
of Outlook, but should still work the older version you have.
http://www.slipstick.com/contacts/oeshare.htm

Note, that for later versions you may have to hack a different key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4
