Are you paying for either of these? If so, then create HTTP accounts. If
not, then you can't use Outlook to read those mailboxes.

only if paid accounts, but gmail will still allow access from outlook.

Hi Mel,

I've been having the same trouble on my home pc since I installed Office
2003. Interestingly, at my office we just upgraded to Office 2003 so I
decided to try setting up the HTTP connection to Hotmail. Everything worked
as expected. I was able to connect to Hotmail via Outlook 2003 without a
hitch. I'm curious where did you get your copy of Office? Did you buy a
retail version or did you install from MSDN media? My development box at
home used the MSDN version that came with my Universal subscription. My
hypothesis is that the MSDN copy is purposely made incompatible. (I've seen
this before...try to install an operating system image from the MSDN media
into a RIS database...you'll find that you will never be able to install the
MSDN OS via RIS.) Your response would be helpful.

Thanks,
Mike
