Default Moving office to a new computer

I have Office XP Standard for Students on an old computer and want to move it
to a new computer. The new computer is running XP. I have installed the
software and as part of the setup have to put in the product key code. The
setup says the code is invalid. I have not uninstalled Office from the old
computer. Is that the problem or is something else wrong?

Where are you getting the key code? The code would be on the CD carrier
that the CD was in. If you are using the one from the computer's case this
the OSs code. If you are getting it from the Office CD case or carrier,
make sure you are looking carefully at the B or 8, 0 or O, etc.
