Headers & Footers
In office 2000, there is an option to add headers and footers. The problem is that when I select headers and footers I have the option to change the footer, but no option to add the header. The only header option in in handout view, I want a header and footer in the slide view.

Sarah,
I don't have 2000 anymore but... Can you not add a header on the Slide master, via a text box? -- Regards, Glen Millar Microsoft PPT MVP http://www.powerpointworkbench.com/ Featured Presenter, PowerPoint Live 2004 October 10-13, San Diego CA http://www.powerpointlive.com "Sarah B" wrote in message ... Headers & Footers
This perplexed me for quite a while when I first started using Powerpoint and
its not clear from the help files either. The answer is that everything on the slide master repeats in subsequent slides so you can put anything in the slide master and it will repeat (until you use another slide master). If the thing you put in is at the top, then you could properly call it a "header". The confusion arises because there is no set position in the slide master for the "header" whereas there is for "footer". So you think, "I've can put in a footer but I can't put in a header". This confusion is compounded by the "header and footer" item in the view menu. Clicking this, you confidentally think you will be able to view the header and footer entry for slides. But all that appears is the footer entry for slides! Er .. am I doing something wrong? Having said that, I think pp is brilliant. Sorry, it is what it is. You can't add a header placeholder to a slide. You
do, as you have discovered, get a header box on the handouts. -- Echo [MS PPT MVP] http://www.echosvoice.com What's new in PPT 2007? http://www.echosvoice.com/2007.htm Fixing PowerPoint Annoyances http://tinyurl.com/36grcd PowerPoint 2007 Complete Makeover Kit http://tinyurl.com/32a7nx "jester" wrote in message ...
