Leaving blank business cards
Don,
Thanks for your reply. I was able to set up a layout guide, using "Arrange", but I am not sure how to copy the ID Card (which is a .pub file with mail-merge) to a particular location on the layout. I tried copy and paste, but I only got a blank rectangle. I tried insert object, but when I printed, I got the file name of the object, rather than the object itself. I can't just paste a picture, because the fields are filled from a Mail-Merge data source. What am I doing incorrectly? - David "Don Schmidt" wrote in message ... The way I do it using Publisher 2000 is create a page and using the Arrange set the columns and rows to the specs of the business card stock. Copy the card to the locations you want to print. -- Don Vancouver, USA "David D." wrote in message ... I am using Publisher 2000 (form Office 2000 Pro) under W2K. I am printing I.D. cards on 8 1/2 x 11 Avery 8-card stock. If I have only a few cards to print, I want to be able to leave blank cards, and start printing farther down the page. That way I can use up the stock starting at the bottom of the page, so that the top of the page is still intact to feed into the printer. Is there an option to do this? I have tried combinations of adding blank rows to .XLS and .CSV data files, selecting specific rows to print, and checking or not checking "Do not print blank rows", alas, to no avail. All printing seems to start at the top of the page. David |

Have Publisher running with the card displayed. While it is still running,
start a second running of Publisher and use the Arrange, set the number of rows and columns. Go to the first running of Publisher with the card displayed, do an Edit, Copy the entire card, go to the second Publisher and Paste. Or you can right click, Copy and then over in the new page, right click and paste. BTW, do you have SR-1 2 and 3 added to your Publisher program? -- Don Vancouver, USA "David D." wrote in message ... Thanks, Don,
I think that the first time that I tried it, I thought I had selected all, but I only got the background rectangle, which, for some reason, misleadingly copies with the wrong fill color. I have it working now. Thanks for your help. Also, thanks for reminding everyone about service packs. I keep Office up to date, and Publisher gets updated in the process. - David "Don Schmidt" wrote in message ... Have Publisher running with the card displayed.
