Default "filename is invalid" when opening powerpoint 2003

Is that a question?

I suspect you are trying to open a file in PowerPoint that does not have
a file extension that your version of PowerPoint recognizes. It may be a
newer version that 2003 can not read, or it could have an invalid extension
for PowerPoint, maybe because it is not a PowerPoint file. What exactly is
the file name?
