Default FAXEXT.ECF not loading

Hello,

I am trying to send faxes from outlook 2003 to and exchange server to a FAX
server for processing.

" works fine but is obviously complicated for
the user.

I want to install the faxext.ecf extenstion:

Tools-options-other-advanced options-Add In Manager-Install - select
Faxext.ecf - open.

Nothing happens, no fax extension in Add-In Manager, no error message, no
fax buttons, nothing. No extension error messages when you launch outlook,
not event log entries, etc.

Can you manually add this extension, add a registry key in to say to use
it?...Is there something I can enable to see what is failing?

I am admin of the box.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I looked, but nowhere did I see you mention your fax software. "faxext.ecf"
is for Microsoft Fax which disappeared when Windows 95/98 disappeared.

We use Biscom, FAXCOM suite for windows.

I would like to be able to use the fax number in the contacts. According
to the documentation I need to add the extensions for Outlook to get two
buttons that deal with faxing. Then they should be able to use the fax from
the contact information.

I can create a fax contact using as an email
address but it gets messy.

Your question is for the manufacturer of your fax software, then.
Microsoft has clear documentation of how to integrate each of its fax
products with Outlook in the KB and elsewhere.
