Default Office 2007 install fails with a setup cannot continue message

I downloaded from MSDN and used Nero 7.5.9.0 to burn the iso image,
which verified. I am running Windows XP SP2 fully patched. I got this
same error also.

I then mounted the iso image with Daemon Tools 4.06HE and ran the setup
program. It works.

I've got this problem too. At first i have installed MSO 2007 ultimate
without any problem, and cracked it without problem, after some time
i've got massage that i cant use options of MSO untill i purchese
licensed copy. When i tryed to start Uninstall, i've got problem that
you are talking about. I am using Alcohol 120% to run ISO image from
HD. I have started setup couple time before i've got that massage. So
file is not corrupted, and i have room on my HD. Whats wrong i cant get
it?

Aleksandar

Ohhhh!!! A cracked install can be fixed very easily. What you need to do is to uninstall it first and then get your brain to give your legs the command to go to the nearest store that has Off 2007 for sale. When you get in the store ask the first clerk if he has Office 2007 in stock. If No then continue to another store. If Yes then reach into your pocket and pull out your Credit Card or Cash and pay for it. After that run home and install that Office 2007. Your issue will be solved without any error's.

Now you know Picska

I do think that all the downloads you have made are ok. Because I tried
installing Office 2007 Ultimate on Vista Ultimate and had similar
problems. My installation source was a DVD from Micorsoft. So what I
think actual Office setup has a problem.
Anyway I did install Office 2007 Ultimate after some struggle and I did
publish a post on this.
If any one interested please visit my lengthy blog at either

I got the same error message as you guys, all of the solutions mentioned
did not work.

I fixed the problem by upgrading the firmware of my DVD-R Drive

(Liteon - LH-20A1S)

I had Just recently installed Windows XP x64 Edition.

It seems that the XP Driver is not suffice for the installation of
Microsoft Office 2007.

Long story short, after installing the firmware, I tried the
installation again and the message did not come up. i now have
Microsoft Office 2007 Installed.

*** Note *** - I did not get the firmware from the liteon website, the
website gave me the wrong firmware for my Drive model.

Default Office 2007 install fails with a setup cannot continue message

I am trying to install Office 2007 using original OEM media on a system
with a fresh install of Windows XP Pro. IT works on other systems fine
so I know the media is ok. On this system I get an error:
D:\ProHybridr.WW\OSETUP.DLL digital signature does not validate or is
not present.
I have tried copying the CD files to the hard drive and running from
there but get the same result.

Any ideas anyone?

check,
Control panel Regional and Language Options
and make sure that location is set properly
OR
Make a copy on another computer and use it on this computer to install.

Had this same problem with a new copy of Office Home edition. Was originally
trying to install from an external USB CD drive that did not have the Region
Code specified and while the files on the disc could be read, the install
failed consistently with this error. Switched to an internal CD drive that
had the Region Code set, and the install went without any issues using the
same original CD. I believe this problem ".WW\OSETUP.DLL digital signature
does not validate or is not present." stemmed from an inconsistency between
the Region on the CD and the Region specified on the CD Drive. You can check
(and I believe usually update, although a limited number of times) the Region
for the Drive from its properties: Right click on the drive in My Computer,
select properties, hardware, then click on the drive, properties and finally
region. If it is unspecified, selecting the appropriate region for your area
may do the trick for you.
