Hi i am hoping this is a simple question/solution.

I have heard in the past you can download a PDF Addin for Microsoft Office
(Word).

The questions I have a

1. Do you still need Acrobat Professional?
2. Where can I download it for Office 2003, as the only one I can find on
the Microsoft download site is for Office 2007?

Thanks in advance, I hope someone can help as I am spending time looking for
something that might not even exist or work.

There is no add-in for Office 2003, it's 2007 only.

If all you need is to be able to create .pdf files, there are several
free/low-cost alternatives to Adobe Acrobat. And there are other versions of
Acrobat other than Pro. That may be more than what you need.

but the point im asking for, the downloadable "addin" from microsoft isnt all
that is required, i need some form of acrobat (other than reader) for that
addin to work is that correct, yes or no?

if u read the requirements for the addin when downloading it from microsoft,
it maked no mention of requiring Acrobat.

Asfor there not being an add in for 2003 that is incorrect, half of our
office in various locations across the country has the little PDF button on
their Word toolbars, all of which are Office 2003. While it might be 3rd
party (as i do not know for sure), it definately exists.

Yes, there are add-in's for 2003. No, they are not available through
Microsoft. I use PDFCreator which works as a printer selection to
create PDF files. It's free. There are many others out there. Do a
Goggle search or ask the people that still have the button what is
running under the button.

There is no download for Word or other Office programs for any version
prior to 2007 to do what the download for2007 will do. That PDF button you
see in Word 2003 is for Adobe Acrobat program. It is a 3rd party program
and is relatively expensive for each license. As many have said there are
third party programs for use with ANY program that can print to a printer
that will create a PDF file. If you need to create a PDF file from a Word
document I recommend the download and install of PrimoPDF which can be had
he http://www.primopdf.com/. If you do qualify for and download the 2007
Save As PDF file, you do not need any other program to allow it to work
other than the Office 2007 program/s.

For a free PDF reader, I use Foxit Reader that loads a lot faster than
Acrobat Reader and it can be had he http://www.foxitsoftware.com/
