Default Repair and install crashes

I am unable to re-install Office 2003. The install crashes as soon as
I enter the last field of the serial number. I have used the
MSIexec unregister /reserver in SAFE mode, and Windows install clean
up utilty.

This is frustrating.

I am using Windows XP Home on a 2.0 G machine with 500 Meg RAM.

help.
