Newbie: How to I reverse X and Y axis values?
I have selected two columns of data. Then I click the Chart icon and select
a format. I get a chart but the X values and Y values are reversed from what I want--and I can't find out how to reverse them. I can only image that there is some "simple" way to do this, but I can't find it. HELP! TIA, Larry Woods |

Newbie: How to I reverse X and Y axis values?
Having the x and y values inadertently exchanged in a chart typically
means that on the worksheet the y values are in a column to the left of the x values. So, copy/move the y values such that they are in a column to the right of the x values. Now, select the old x values and the new y values and then click the chart wizard. -- Regards, Tushar Mehta, MS MVP -- Excel www.tushar-mehta.com Excel, PowerPoint, and VBA add-ins, tutorials Custom MS Office productivity solutions In article , says... Larry;
There is. View the chart sheet you want to change. Click the Chart Wizard tool (it's a three column chart made of blue, yellow, and red bars). The Chart Wizard window appears. At Step 1, click 'Next.' At Step 2, change 'Series in Columns' to 'Series in Rows' (or the reverse, whichever is currently unselected). Click 'Finish'. -----Original Message----- I have selected two columns of data. Then I click the Chart icon and select a format. Larry -
You can right click on the chart and select Source Data. Click on the Series tab, then notice the ranges in the Values and Categories edit boxes. Switch the entries in these two boxes. As Tushar recommends, it's easier to set up your data correctly in the first place with the X values to the left of the Y values. - Jon ------- Jon Peltier, Microsoft Excel MVP http://www.geocities.com/jonpeltier/Excel/index.html _______ Larry Woods wrote: I have selected two columns of data.
