Default "Activesync calendar and contacts not avaiable"

I'm trying to sync my calendar and contacts with between my pocket PC and
Outlook 2003. In setting up a new partnership with Activesync, I can't
select these Outlook features - the setup screen says that they are not
installed. I'm not sure why and I don't see any place to turn the features
on. I tried both an old version of Activesync (3.5) and the new 3.8 version
without any success. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi Ron,

My solution may not please Microsoft but I went to Intellisync online
(http://www.digitalriver.com/dr/v2/ec...P=0&CACHE_ID=0)
and that solved my problem. You still have to have Activesync but you do
your sync functions through Intellisync. It's working very well.

I have no idea whats up with Activesync.

I hope this is of some assistance to you.

It won't help Ray...but I have exactly the same problem with Outlook 2002 and
ActiveSync 3.7.1 and 3.8.
If you come up with an answer could you email me at ?
Thanks.

Apparently the answer is

- Go to "Control Panel"
- Click "Add/Remove Programs"
- Highlight "Microsoft Office"
- Click "Change"
- Wait for the software to load
- Click "*REPAIR OFFICE*"
- Re-boot your machine

I say apparently becuase I haven't tried it, I don't have Office, I
can't afford it yet. I saw this answer 'here'

i know that this post is a bit of a delay to say the least. but that is
the proper resolve (atleast in my cases, multiple times)...
but after running the repair, uninstall/reinstall active S. i install
v3.7 and run the update to 3.8..
werks fer mee
