Microsoft Outlook 2002 Error
I received the following error message upon sending/receiving:
Task '207.150.192.80 - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC6D): "Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 552.5.2.0rv0X1c00L494LH803v0Xcm. This message was undeliverable. This message has been found to be a potential spam message and has therefore been blocked. Please visit http://coxagainstspam.cox.net for more info.' I called technical support, and Chris told me to go to the above website, yet I can't spend all day trying to find out how to remedy this. Please advise. Thank you. |

Microsoft Outlook 2002 Error
You are the only one who can fix it.
Your ISP has said that the message you are trying to send looks like spam. You have 3 choices: 1) Delete the problem message from your Outbox and don't try sending it again. 2) Read their website to determine what they flag as spam and change the message to comply 3) Get a different ISP who doesn't filter outgoing spam. But your message may just as well get filtered by your recipients. -- Mike - http://TechHelp.Santovec.us "Joanne" wrote in message ... I have copied and pasted these replies so in case anything like this comes up in the future, I'll have them at my fingertips. This was the first time I posted, and I quickly realized after doing so that the topic was, in fact, Outlook Express and not Microsoft Outlook. I still don't really understand why I kept getting the error message, "This message was undeliverable," each and every time I hit Send/Receive. I neither was aware of a message I was sending upon receiving the error message, nor could I find a message that the system was attempting to send me that was spam. The way that my problem was remedied was by changing the Outgoing Server Port Number from 25 to 80 and changing the Outgoing Mail Server from smtp.west.cox.net to smtpout.secureserver.net. That seemed to cure the error message problem. Again, thank you so much, and I will be more careful to post in the correct place next time. |

Apparently Cox is your SMTP provider. They think your e-mail is spam. Could be due to how many e-mails you have sent within a 10-minute interval or some max per day quota that you exceeded. Could be the content of your e-mail, like using a template in all those hundreds of e-mails which make them look like you are spewing the exact or nearly same e-mail, and they have a limit to bulk mailing originating from personal-use accounts. Since it is YOUR e-mail provider saying that they won't process your spammy looking e-mail then there is only one person to contact, and that would be your e-mail provider (Cox is it?). We're just users here. We can do nothing about quotas or spam filtering by Cox's mail servers. You'll have to ask Cox why they think you, as their customer, are a spammer. If Cox won't talk to you about the problem, well, that's when you start thinking legal actions for them violating their contract for service. |
