Have you tried with the Office 2000 install CD inserted into the CD-ROM and
selecting uninstall on it and then selecting selectively the proper selection to
remove the shortcut bar

That would defect using the 2003 Resourse kit to uninstall 2000, and install
Office 2003 using Active Directory.

I'm confused.

Don't you just turn the Shortcut Bar off? You don't need to uninstall it.

I put the Office products that I use onto the Quick Launch bar, which
accomplishes the same task as the Shortcut Bar, but takes less space and
allows a greater variety of apps to be started by a single click.

There is nothing to turn off in the app, you choose to uninstall Office, and
it leave the shortcut bar in a folder

So, you are Uninstalling Office 2000, and the Shortcut Bar remains when the
Uninstall is complete?

If the Shortcut bar was up during the Uninstall, it might not be uninstalled
with the rest of the applications. Sorry, but I've not used Office 2K for a
few years, but I'm sure the Shortcut Bar could be turned off. I have used XP
(with the Quicl Launch Bar) for many years, and I turned the Shortcut Bar
off because I did not have anything to put on it since I could put the same
stuff and more on Quick Launch.

It seems that MSoft would remove the Shortcut Bar with the rest of the
Office Suite if all of the programs on the bar were closed when Uninstall
was launched.

I'm not sure where your problem lays, but I'm getting a feeling that you may
need to edit the Registry.

installation of office

DL

You are absolutely correct. It was an option that needed to be selected on custom
install. It was not a default option
