Default Link/Export Connections to DataSource

Hello,
Is it possible to link Visio connections to my datasource? I.e. draw a
connection in Visio and export/link that relation to my datasource?

Use Case:
I have a datasource listing the servers in my organization. I'd like to
link which servers each application / process are dependent upon. That way I
can visually see what servers an app/process relies on AND query my
datasource to determine what app/processes are affected by a server outage.
Thanks

Visio Professional 2007 has a feature set that allows data linking. It allows
a user to link data to shapes using data sources such as Excel, Access,
SharePoint Services, SQL, OLEDB and ODBC. You can also configure the data to
be updated automatically or perform a manual update. You can view the demo by
visiting the following hyperlink.
