Default Default snap and glue settings

I'm tired of having to change my snap and glue settings from the default
settings every time I create a new diagram. How can I change it so the
default setting for "Snap", in particular, is de-selected?

All you really need to do is adjust the settings to the desired position then
save the Visio drawing as a template. This should hold all your settings so
the next time you open the template the snap and glue will have retain your
values.
