Microsoft Excel 2003 Breaking Link
Hi,
We have a file that is generatd by wonderware active factory. The file has always been able to be read by clicking "do not update links" by other users so they can just read the numbers off of the file. Since the upgrade to EXCEL 2003 we cannot break the link while keeping the data in the file. When we break the links we get #NAME? errors in all the cells. Any help would be appreciated. |

If possible, update the links on opening, and then break the links to keep the values Bill Manville MVP - Microsoft Excel, Oxford, England No email replies please - respond to newsgroup |

The file is not accessable when we open it. Therfore we can see the values with an error message on top but when when click the update or don't update or cancel on the error message we get #name? values instead. |

We cannot update the links. So what happens if you use Edit / Links / Startup Prompt / don't update and don't ask? It is unusual in my experience to get a #NAME? error from a link formula. Can you give an example of the formulas that give this? Bill Manville MVP - Microsoft Excel, Oxford, England No email replies please - respond to newsgroup |
