Default Protect cells

I want a cell like "Name" be locked, but the cell next to it to be open for
entering a name. How do I do it?

Default Protect cells

Cell formats have a "locked" property that is actually locked by
default. If you protect a sheet it will engage all of the locks, so
choose which ones you wish to unlock first (with Format/Cells/
Protection - version dependent!), and then protect the sheet.

Open Excel. Hit F1 (or select Help / Microsoft Excel Help). In the box under
"Assistance" that says "Search for:" type "protect cells". Hit enter.
