Crashed when playing embedded mpg file
I inserted a about 10 seconds-long movie file (.mpg) from my local drive.
And then if I double click it to play, powerpoint is just crashed. The movie file just works fine in windows media player. I have a HP Mini 311 ion netbook on XP and powerpoint 2003 with service pack3. I have to immediatly solve this problem for my uncoming presentation. Any help will be highly appreciated. |

Strongly recommend that you convert the MPG file to a WMV file format before linking the file. PowerPoint does not embed movie files only links them. MPG files have an occasional issue with codecs and will crash PPT. PPT does not use Windows Media Player to play those files it uses a different media player. I use a paid program called Videozilla to convert my files but they do have a ten use trial for free. http://www.videozilla.net/ There are other free file converters out there also. |
