Printing 2 copies with the second having a different merge field?? Possible
Hello All, I use mail merge through an access database to populate address fields (among other things) for letters I send to clients. When I print this document, I print 2 copies - one for the post and one for filing. What I would like to do is have a client reference number print on the second copy only (e.g. "File copy: UR 123456"). It would not be appropriate for the number to be on the letter sent to clients or other professionals. Regards, jcrmit -- jcrmit |

Try using the following field construction
{ IF { PRINTDATE } "0/0/0000 0:00:00 AM" "File copy: UR 123456" } You must use Ctrl+F9 to insert each pair of field delimiters {} It might not work because the { PRINTDATE } field might be updated by the first printing, An alternative would be to use a macro to do the printing which printed the first copy and then displayed an inputbox to allow you to supply the File Reference which it would insert into the footer where you want it to appear and then print a second copy of the letter. -- Hope this helps.
