Default changing the line @ forecast

I have plotted some info on a line chart. The info contains data from previous quarters and some forecasted info for the next few quarters. Is there a way to change the line (to a dotted line perhaps) where the forecast begins but leave the solid line for the non-forecast info?

How about changing the single series into 2 series? One series is for
the stuff you "know", the other the forecast? Could also make for a
nicer legend, if you choose to use one.

Another option would be to add a vertical line at that date where the
forecast begins. See, e.g., Jon Peltier's website for adding chart lines
of this nature. His root address is
