Default How to have Office products remember their own save directories ?

In Office 2000, each program remembers the directory where it saved the last
file. In Office 2003, when you activate the "open file" dialog, it goes to
the directory where any Office program most recently saved a file, even if
that was a different Office program. How can I change this behavior, so that
each program remembers its own directory ?
