Since when? It's "free" for only one email account.

It checks

delete of the server.

Mailwasher works outside OE. Spam Inspector uses OE so you don't have to
open two programs; in Mailwasher's case, open Mailwasher, clean mail,

then
open OE. With Spam Inspector, open OE and Spam Inspector works within OE

and
puts all of your spam in the Deleted Items folder.

Good for you but it still doesn't "work" for me and as I posted "Giant" are
of no help whatsoever. I would not knowingly purchase software from a
Company that doesn't support their clients.

Of course I did. I always load new programs with all others shut down
(Enditall). As far as trying it beforehand, can't you read? I said it used
to work and only stopped working when my ISP changed its "configuration" to
require "This server requires authentification" to be checked. At that
point OE stopped receiving mail. Uninstalling SI solved the problem,
reinstalling the program (yes the very latest version) caused the problem to
reoccur. Contacted "Giant" 3 times for advice, no response. Finally got a
response to unload and reload latest program. Did that, no change.
Contacted Giant again who eventually asked me to send copies of certain
files to them (can't remember which files now), sent the files. I have not
heard from Giant since and that was over two months ago.

Have given up on SI and "Giant". Have found "Spamihilator" (I know what an
awful name), works better than SI and what is more it is free.

Under the circumstances I feel justified in complaining about the
short-comings of Spam Inspector and "Giant". While I recognize that
programs are unlikely to work perfectly in every single case, the lack of
any meaningful support to a paying customer from "Giant" is not acceptable
and I strongly advise anyone to look elsewhere for an "anti Spam" program.

Giant have all the facts, including diagnostic files they requested, but
have not responded in any way. They simply ignore the problem. I would
understand if they simply acknowledged the problem and indicate they were
investigating. In my opinion Giant are failing to accept their
responsibilities as a software vendor to assist and support their customer.
I find it curious that you appear to support their actions or rather lack
of action by implying some sort of fault with me. I simply purchased their
software for a particular purpose and after installing and reinstalling it a
number of times, found it failed to work for me.

This type of forum is one of the means to exchange with others experience of
performance of software companies and to allow others to benefit from others
experiences both good and bad. I am happy for you that your experience with
this particular software has been favourable and wish my experience had been
the same but unfortunately it has not. Maybe if and when you have problems
with the software that you are unable to troubleshoot yourself, you will
then understand my dissatisfaction with Giant's customer support.

As far as the problem occurring when my ISP changed their required
configuration, the change simply required the enabling of a feature within
OE, hardly an unusual departure and one a program designed to work with OE
should accommodate.

I think we have exhausted all there is to say on this particular subject and
we should now stop.

will be interested. Otherwise just go away. Your comments on this

matter
to date show no intelligence whatsoever.
The whole point of my original message is to advise would be purchasers

of
Span Inspector, not to expect support from the program vendor should

they
have problems, based upon my experience. The program clearly works for

some
and presumably they are satisfied but those who have problems may find

they
are on their own.

Let's see, the problem started when your ISP made the changes and you

blame
Spam Inspector. And, to top it off, you say I "show no intelligence
whatsoever". Did you also make similar comments to Giant?

Most of my emails require "this server requires authentification" and

I
have
no problems. I suspect the problem is you, not Spam Inspector.

Of course I did. I always load new programs with all others shut

down
(Enditall). As far as trying it beforehand, can't you read? I said

it
used
to work and only stopped working when my ISP changed its

"configuration"
to
require "This server requires authentification" to be checked. At

that
point OE stopped receiving mail. Uninstalling SI solved the

problem,
reinstalling the program (yes the very latest version) caused the

problem
to
reoccur. Contacted "Giant" 3 times for advice, no response.

Finally
got
a
response to unload and reload latest program. Did that, no change.
Contacted Giant again who eventually asked me to send copies of

certain
files to them (can't remember which files now), sent the files. I

have
not
heard from Giant since and that was over two months ago.

Have given up on SI and "Giant". Have found "Spamihilator" (I know

what
an
awful name), works better than SI and what is more it is free.

Under the circumstances I feel justified in complaining about the
short-comings of Spam Inspector and "Giant". While I recognize

that
programs are unlikely to work perfectly in every single case, the

lack
of
any meaningful support to a paying customer from "Giant" is not

acceptable
and I strongly advise anyone to look elsewhere for an "anti Spam"

program.

Good for you but it still doesn't "work" for me and as I posted
"Giant"
are
of no help whatsoever. I would not knowingly purchase software

from
a
Company that doesn't support their clients.

They told you to uninstall it and reinstall it, right? Did you do

that?
And
did you turn off your AV auto scan prior to installing it? Why

didn't
you
download the free preview before purchasing it?

W ell it appears we have someone with some knowledge on Spam
Inspector.
Please explain why SI worked OK for me until my ISP required

me
to
check
"This Server Requires Authentification" in the OE Account
Properties,

I have seven of those types of accounts and SI has no problem

with
them
whatsoever.

Alias
after
which I was unable to receive emails until I removed SI. I

lost
count
of
the number of e mails for assistance on this problem I sent

to
"Giant"
who
either ignored the requests for help or replied to reinstall

the
program
(standard response).

If Spam Inspector works for you fine, it worked for me once,

but
if
you
have
problems don't rely upon Giant to help you or you may be

unlucky.
I
paid
for this program and I expect it to work, for me it doesn't,

hence
I
advise
anyone to use another program especially as I now find there

are
many
"anti
Spam" programs which are freeware and work as well., if not
better,
than
those that you pay for.

Please do not think because a program functions for you, in

your
particular
set of circumstances, it will function equally well for

all.
That
simply
is not true.

Mailwasher works outside OE. Spam Inspector uses OE so

you
don't
have
to
open two programs; in Mailwasher's case, open

Mailwasher,
clean
mail,
then
open OE. With Spam Inspector, open OE and Spam

Inspector
works
within
OE
and
puts all of your spam in the Deleted Items folder.

That doesn't seem quite correct. Yes, you open

MailWasher
first,
and
clean
your email. However, when you clean the email, you click

the
"Process
Mail"
button in MW; this should automatically open MSOE.

So does hitting the OE icon on the desktop or quick launch

:-)

That said, I don't like MailWasher because of its

promotion
of
the
abusive
"bounce" feature. I wouldn't use it if they gave it to

me.

Spam Inspector will only bounce if deemed to be effective;
otherwise
it
won't.
