Default Calendar not showing and cannot get back - help

OK so what have I done...

1. I click on Calendar in the Navigation pane.
2. ONLY my Appointments are being shown in list fashion where once the
Calendar was being shown in the area to the right of the Navigation pane.
3. Outlook 2003, NO software aupdates whatsoever, NO option changes neither.
4. Curiously the Day, Week, Month view buittons are not being shown.
5. I have gone thru every darn menu in the OUTLOOK universe without success.
