Default Powerpoint 2007 spellchecker misses everything ------ any ideas?

The spellchecker in powerpoint misses every spelling error. We can't find any
fix or help regarding this.

Even if we manually select to spell check a document (vs. autocorrect) it
misses all errors.

We're very frustrated are hoping others have experienced this and have a fix.

We've adjusted all the configurations. No it's not the French problem either.

Thanx in advance

Hi John,

Yes - spell works in word, excel, outlook etc...

Just doesn't work in Powerpoint. It's also not isolated. 5 of us are
experiencing the same issue.

We've gone through the usual steps, checked the dictionary, made sure we
were in english, toggled the autocorrect and hide errors boxes. Nothing works.

I'm not talking about text embedded in objects either. Just plain old bullet
points etc...

Wonder if the language of the textboxes isn't set to English to begin with?
Select a placeholder and go to Review | Language. What's it set to? How
about manual textboxes?

Echo,

Thanx for the reply. I checked the review / language on the placeholders and
it's set to US English.

That wasn't it.

This is driving us nuts.

Thanx John,
I checkec what you and Echo suggested.

Everything is fine on both counts.

I have no disabled add-ins of any kind. The only active add-ins are PDF
Maker and the outlook Business Contact Manager

There are a few inactive add-ins but they're all about non-visible content
(and we have no hidden content anyway)

Any other ideas?

We have absolutely no faith in Powerpoint spelling right now. Driving us nuts.

I'm having the same problem in all '07 apps and have made all the suggested
checks in options, etc. Anyone gotten the "fix" yet?

Default Powerpoint 2007 spellchecker issue

Don't know if this will help lead to a solution... The first time I spell check a Powerpoint it works, after that it just keeps giving me the Spell Checking is Complete message - unfortunately there is not re-check document as there is in Word

Default Powerpoint 2007 spellchecker issue - more info

I am having the same trouble and also am at a loss?!?

One thing I have found interesting, if I add a text box to a slide spell check works for the text box, but does not work in the text area of the slide layout?

anyone know if there is specific settings for the slide master text area vs. a text box?
