Default get the history of a file - revert to previously saved version

One of my students almost finished a Powerpoint - he went to open it and has
only the first slide. I know he's had more everytime he works on it. Can I
get to a previously saved version and copy that out and save it as a new file
since this one seems to be corrupt. I have tried file search found it and
clicked on modify but it gives me the same one slide file. How can I find a
history of the saved versions of that file so I can choose the one to copy
and save as a new file?
