Default Date form field loses boldfacing on exiting the field

Have noticed that a date form field for which I have applied a style that makes the date text boldface blue loses the boldface after entering or pasting a date and leaving the field by tabbing or clicking. The font type and color are retained; only the boldface disappears.

Saw a similar issue in this forum under "Protected Date Field in Forms Mode - Strange Behaviour," which leads to http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;828501. But this doesn't describe the same problem, nor does the solution (formatting the field before entering the form field) work.

This happens only in date form fields. I have seen some posts that are similar but not quite the same as this. This needs to be a user-enterable field.

I am thinking that some simple VBA code run on exit could just reapply the boldfacing to the entered date, but I don't know VBA well enough to compose the code.

Can someone assist me with that, or offer another solution?
