Inserting a dynamic picture into a shape

Is there a way to create a custom stencil, create a master shape and have that shape reference a picture that will be defined on the creation of a new instance of the previously created master shape?

I would like a client to have the ability to create a texture object and dynamically define the texture inside the shapes custom properties.
