Numbering Shapes with Preceding Text

I would like to use the numbering shapes function with
more preceding text flexability. Instead of using the drop
down I would like a different text (instead of having A
start the test I would like to start with B on worksheet
and C on the next worksheet, etc).

Any ideas?

The following method will help you to achieve the requirement:

Instead of selecting only the specific items in the drop down list for PRECEDING TEXT of NUMBER SHAPES window,
type in the required value and you can find the output under PREVIEW.

I have basically the same questions as Daines except I would like the preceding text to be "1.2" so that sub flows can be blow out to 1.2.1 or 1.2.1.1.

However, in Visio 2002, you cannot type in values into the PRECEDING TEXT drop down. It only lets you choose the values in the drop down list. Is there any other way to alter the preceding text?
