Default IP Layout

does anyone know the best way to make up an IP plan in
visio? Is there a really good template for it anywhere?
I am a new user to visio, so I know this could probably be
a very dumb question but any help would be great.

visio is a diagramming tool, it's up to someone else to design the plan that
you

want it to draw,

al

1. Design a hierarchy

Autononomous systems

Areas

Networks

Subnetworks

End Stations

2. Design route summarization

3. Design a plan for distributing administrative authority

4. Design a method for mapping geographical locations to network numbers

5. Develop a plan for identifying special stations

6. Develop a plan for configuring end station addresses

7. Design a scheme for naming servers, network equipment, and end stations

Example 1 :

Static

-3rd octet = 11 - server,workstations

-4th octet

1-100 devices

101-254 future

-3rd octet 12 - net device

-4th octet

1-80 router

81-120 switch

121-220 hubs/waps

221-254 future
