how do i remove blank lines in mail merge address labels
I am using word 2003 to do a address labels using mail merge. My data source
is in an excel spread sheet. The problem is that some of the addresses contain a 2nd line for apt# and some don't? when the merge is complete it leaves blank lines if there is noothing in the field. How can I get the merge to reconize that is a field is empty and does not need a space? |

how do i remove blank lines in mail merge address labels
Use an If...then...Else field construction, using Ctrl+F9 to insert each
pair of field delimiters { IF { MERGEFIELD Address2 } = "" "{ MERGEFIELD Address1 }" "{ MERGEFIELD Address1 }¶ { MERGEFIELD Address2 }" } where the ¶ appears in the above, press Enter or Shift +Enter Use Alt+F9 to toggle off the display of the field codes. -- Hope this helps.
