Outlook Express 6 download
Bruce - thanks for the reply. i do not have Vista and am still using Windows
XP. (i see how i was confusing in my original post) i am looking to get OE6 back onto my PC via a download. It looks like this is no longer possible. Or do you know where it can be found? Is there a way to copy it from my laptop? thanks. "Bruce Hagen" wrote: [Crossposted to the Windows Vista Mail newsgroup]. "Cone" wrote in message ... Does anyone know where i can download OE6? OE6 is imbedded in your installation CD. You already have it, (somewhere).
Did you scrutinize Start | All Programs? Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Add/Remove Windows Components. Is Outlook Express checked? If not, check it and reboot. Is it in All Programs now? If not: Right click on the Desktop | New | Shortcut. Browse to *C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\MSIMN.EXE* Click Next | Click Finish. A new shortcut will be on the desktop. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Cone" wrote in message ... Outlook Express 6 download
i thought we had it, but no cigar.
i have looked at ALL PROGRAMS and the subfolders of each program. Nothing. i tried lookinf for a/r Windows Components but could not find it. (This scares me a little more.) i did find Windows Media player, but it is not listed in my All Programs and i can't launch it either. i tired creating the shortcut found the folder but no EXE (only DLLs)(and i found my address book which is a HUGE relief - THANKS!) i am looking for the install disc now. if i find it, do i have to do a complete reinstall? Could i delete IE 7 and reload IE 6 which used to have OE6? thanks a ton for your help. "Bruce Hagen" wrote: OE6 is imbedded in your installation CD. You already have it, (somewhere). How to Reinstall or Repair IE6 and OE6:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318378 I believe IE7 and SP3 will need to be removed. this is a KB article that will probably never be updated. -- Bruce Hagen MS-MVP Outlook Express Imperial Beach, CA "Cone" wrote in message ... i thought we had it, but no cigar. i have looked at ALL PROGRAMS and the subfolders of each program. Msimn is a hidden file.
Create a shortcut and type the path to "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\MSIMN.EXE" . Try this: Start, Run, msimn, OK. If OE starts, then create the shortcut. -- Ronald Sommer "Cone" wrote in message ... i thought we had it, but no cigar. i have looked at ALL PROGRAMS and the subfolders of each program.
