Default Brochure from Word to Publisher

I received a file by email for a three fold brochure
designed in Word. I'd like to import it into Publisher to
further work on it. If I copy & paste, only part comes
through. If I try to open it in Publisher, it comes
through on 8.5 x 11 portrait pages with all design lost.
I've tried everything I can think of. Is there a way to
do this? I have Word 2000 and Publisher 2000. Thanks for
any help.

They are two totally different programs. You are to expect drastic
formatting loss, and cleaning up the publication is normal.

Publisher 2003 has drastically improved this with a new Import Word Document
feature, which retains most formatting and objects and requires very little
formatting fixes.

Thank you, Brian. I guess I'll just redesign it, and so
much for saving time. At least I won't waste any more
trying something that won't happen.
