reading mail in networked computers
Please help...we have two networked computers and when
email is read in OE in the basement, the read mail will not come up in the upstairs computer when OE is opened the next time. Is there a way to read all folders in both computers? Thank you! |

reading mail in networked computers
Hi Nese,
It may be possible to leave messages on the server. Be sure this is for a limited time only -- say from 2 to 4 days. The setting is in Tools, Accounts, Mail tab, Mail Account...Properties, Advanced tab. -- Tim K. aka Kuay Tim MVP - (IE/OE) Lynnwood, WA * "'Nese" wrote in message ... That is like asking if there is a way for someone to go to a mail box, get
the mail and yet still have the mail there when the next person goes to the mail box. You could set one PC up to "leave a copy at the server", but unless you do go get it in a couple of days, your ISP will clear it out. They only have limited server space. Another option is to only check webmail on one computer (You ISP should have a webmail link on their home page to allow you to see, answer and delete mail from computers other than your own). If the two computers have basically different users, or different purposes, you might ask your ISP for a second email address and notify senders to use different email address for unique computer use. Then set up different accounts of each computer. "'Nese" wrote in message ... In article , Richard Goh says...
You could set one PC up to "leave a copy at the server", but unless you do go get it in a couple of days, your ISP will clear it out. They only have limited server space. Or you could set MSOE to delete messages from the server after x days have lapsed; with the obvious need to check the account from both computers within the x-day period. -- Norman ~Win dain a lotica, En vai tu ri, Si lo ta ~Fin dein a loluca, En dragu a sei lain ~Vi fa-ru les shutai am, En riga-lint |
