Default Editing AutoCAD Drawings

My computer is operating in XP Home Edtion and I have installed VISIO 2003
Prof. version. I have inserted AutoCAD (Rel 12- Rel 14) files into VISIO.
These drawings have objects that were drawn in AutoCAD modelspace and the
text and dimensioning were done in paperspace to keep text the smae height
from one drawing to the next.

After inserting each of these different versions, I have tried to edit the
properties of the drawing where it allows a layer to have a different color,
visibility, and line width. The line width is my main concern. When
applying these edits to the line widths, they visually do not change on the
screen nor does the printed copy represent the edits made in the dialog box.
Each of the AutoCad drawings are saved in paperspace mode.

I have tried to convert each of these drawings to VISIO and can only get the
items that were drawn in paperspace to readily convert. The modelspace
objects seem to be un-editable.

I thought I had read that VISIO 2003 Prof. was able to work around this
AutoCAD modelspace/paperspace issue. Is there any way to get the objects
into VISIO and formated for printing without redrawing everything? I
appreciate any assistance that can be shared.

Thanks,
Bob

Hey Bob, have you tried converting your text to modelspace before
sending it to Visio?? You can do that pretty easily with the Express
Tools in AutoCad if you have them. I don't know what you'll do about
your title block information if you want to put that into Visio but,
the text should work fine once you switch it to modelspace.

Hope that helps,
