Hey all;

I've recently purchased some electrical design software which uses visio,
and there has been no problems with it. However, when i'm creating a flow
chart there are some items that will not work ie: adding a new page; the
right click won't work and there is no option in the insert tab, also off
page reference when i drag and drop the pop-up for setup does not appear.
There are also some items missing from the menu tabs.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Sounds to me like the electrical add-in has taken over various menus -
that's fine, the add-on may provide its own alternatives.
But i think you need to start Visio such that this addon is not
invoked.
Are you starting Visio from the Start menu or from the desktop or
what?
Has this electrical addon changed any of the menus?

I've started it from both desktop and start menu in my attempt to get it
working, i've removed it and re-installed it. I also removed the add-ins but
still no joy. I think it has changed some of the menus because a lot of
options aren't in the drop downs, however they are still there when i go to
customise the toolbars?

For the meantime i've re-installed visio 2003 so that I can carry on but I
would like to get it sorted maybe a conversation with the electrical software
people might help, if no one here can help.

But no add on can change the menu permanently, if the ad don is not
running then the menus should appear as normal.
Look at menu Tools - Options - Advanced - File Paths
and see what the various paths are set to.

There in lies the problem, options were not available from the tools menu. I
had to add it to my customised toolbar, when i did I could see the path for
the add on (no other file paths were in there) leading to the design software
i removed it re-started visio, still nothing, then put it back in.

Can you tell us the name of this software?
One thing to try, set the macro security to high - again, in the Tools
- Options

The software is engineering base from Aucotec. I purchased it a while back
and it was working on visio 2003, this was my first intro to visio and since
this i work on it most days, recently there was and upgrade on Eng Base and
they sent along visio 2007 to my delight but.... you know! 2003 is working
perfectly but not 2007.

I was unable to set the macro security, the tab for security isn't there?

I would suggest you ask Aucotec directly.
They appear to have an online forum as well.
